AlphaFlight announced as Launch Customer

PLYMOUTH, IN — October 9, 2025 — The Plymouth Airport was abuzz on Thursday afternoon as more than seventy guests gathered to witness a defining moment in the future of flight training. Surrounded by local, county, and state officials—as well as aviation industry leaders—AlphaFlight formally signed an agreement to become the launch customer for Maloy Aircraft’s MA-1 Blue Jay, marking the first purchase of four aircraft by the Indiana-based flight school.

The signing represents a key milestone for both organizations. For AlphaFlight, it cements their role as a leader in advancing regional pilot training and expanding opportunities for students. For Maloy Aircraft, it signals the industry’s confidence in a new model of pilot development—one designed to align closely with the demands of modern airline operations.

The MA-1 Blue Jay, developed by Maloy Aircraft, fills a long-standing void in the training market by providing a high-performance, tandem-seat aircraft that replicates the handling, speed, and precision required in commercial flight environments. The aircraft integrates seamlessly with Flight Lead, Maloy Aircraft’s proprietary training platform, offering flight schools a complete, data-driven ecosystem that improves both efficiency and training quality.

“Our vision has always been to raise the standard of airline pilot training while addressing the pipeline challenge,” said Donald Maloy, President and CEO of Maloy Aircraft. “This partnership with AlphaFlight represents more than an aircraft order—it’s a commitment to producing the next generation of airline-ready pilots.”

The event also highlighted AlphaFlight’s continued growth. The flight school, which serves students from regional Career Technical Education programs, announced plans to expand its training operations to include aircraft maintenance programs, further strengthening its role in workforce development for the aviation industry.

Infrastructure improvements at the Plymouth Airport are helping support this growth. The new taxiway has made expanded operations on the east end of the runway more viable, and additional hangars and training facilities are under consideration to accommodate increased activity.

With the signing complete, AlphaFlight and Maloy Aircraft have set in motion a partnership focused on raising the bar for pilot education and shaping the future of professional flight training.
